I know I'll do very well.

How well will you do Sam?

Yeah, I'm already setting myself up for the fall here.

I obviously have worked with you for, you know,

a number of years now.

Almost eight years.

And yet, somehow none of it has gone in.

It's almost nine.

[Caitriona] Is it? Yeah.

Well, that's a good start.

Hi there, we're the cast of Outlander and--

The whole cast?

We are the whole cast of Outlander, are we here to test...

How well we know each other.

Right.

Yeah.

With Vanity Fair.

What's your name again?

[funky music]

All right.

[Sam laughs]

What app do I use the most on my phone?

Does it begin with an R?

[Caitriona laughs]

Um.

[Sam] I know which one you use the most.

I'd say you use,

oh, God.

It's a tie.

I'd say you probably,

actually I'd say you probably use Instagram

more than you do Twitter.

Correct.

Instagram.

[Caitriona laughs]

Cait uses Twitter.

If I was a cocktail...

Ooh.

What kind of cocktail would I be?

A-ha. A-ha.

Well, it depends if you're describing yourself

or if I am.

[Caitriona laughs]

I would describe you.

As?

An Irish coffee.

[Caitriona laughs]

However, I think you would describe yourself

as a Gin martini.

No, wrong on both.

Oh, spicy margarita.

Nice one.

Let's NFT that.

Oh, yeah, look, there's a little spice.

There's a little ice cube. Yeah.

Little jalapeno. A straw.

Yeah, that is delicious actually.

What qualities do I look for in a romantic partner?

Well.

Oh, right,

I know you wanna write it down first.

Oh, I have to write it down.

So I just let you write it down.

Yeah.

Just write it down.

Go on.

What do I look for in a romantic partner?

No, keep it clean.

Must like fitness.

That's true.

Yeah.

Keep it clean.

[Caitriona laughs]

That'll do it, Must like fitness.

[Caitriona laughs]

Easy.

Wow.

Kind

Kind, kind, kind.

And adventurous.

Adventurous, yes, yes.

Great, great at conversation.

Good chats.

Good chats.

Borderline Alco.

Hmm.

I hate to say, these are actually kind of all qualities

that you like apart from the fitness and--

Yeah, no, I don't care about fitness.

You, you are kind of those.

Yeah.

Anyway, if you fill out these criteria

call Sam on [555] 625-2615.

Yeah.

Or just email.

Or just slide into his DM's.

Email Caitriona with your--

Yes, I'll,

I'll sort through the riff raff.

What is my favorite episode of Outlander?

There's been so many.

Favorite episode?

I have to think about this too.

Your favorite episode, your favorite episode.

I think I know.

It's a toss up.

I'm gonna do both.

And then if you get--

If I get one, do I get half a point?

Yeah.

Okay, so I have to get both.

Wait.

Do you actually know the numbers of the episodes?

I think so, yeah.

Okay, I'm gonna say it is Faith.

No, actually.

That would be my favorite out of season two.

So--

Why, what, you're choosing this season?

No. First season?

Well, I was like, the first episode.

Well I was gonna say episode, but then--

Or then this episode six or three.

Oh.

Can I get a little bonus point?

You, you can have 1/4 of a point.

1/4 for Faith.

Yeah, there you go.

What is my favorite item of clothing?

Oh.

I mean, cause you have like 7 million of them.

Ooh, it's not underwear,

is it?

No, leather jacket.

Oh, look at that.

Ah. We have a winner.

I pretended I was looking,

but I wasn't actually looking.

Look at that. Well done.

How many languages do I speak?

When I'm sober.

I think I know this answer.

I mean speak is a very loose term.

Yeah, in the loosest of terms.

In the very loosest term,

I'm going to say three.

Oh.

Yes.

Three-ish.

Yes. Three-ish.

Very much ish.

English, Gaelic and French?

Yeah. There you go.

Oh, this one's too easy.

What's my favorite drink?

Whiskey. Whiskey.

Come on.

[Caitriona laughs]

What does my perfect date look like?

Does this is like a romantic date?

[Caitriona] I assume.

Or just like date, date in a year.

Your perfect date would probably be, definitely a good meal.

Couple of drinks, cinema.

Probably a nap at some point.

[Caitriona laughs]

Well, I was writing it as you were saying it,

but it's right.

Fancy dinner and some good wines.

Yeah, yeah.

What's my favorite thing to cook or bake?

Well you see, you got into cooking in the last few years.

Didn't you?

Yeah, yeah, little bit.

I mean, when I first met you...

Yeah, not so much.

Not so much.

I have to say it's not, well.

You're not gonna get it.

Like soak some porridge or something--

Yes, there you go.

Brilliant.

That's not cooking.

Well, it depends what you do with it.

That's so not cooking.

It's tremendous.

Oh, what's the strangest place I've been recognized?

Probably, I mean, it's gonna be like,

oh, I think,

well, like a bathroom or something?

H-hm.

And I was very naked.

Two old ladies came over to me.

At the Blue Lagoon.

Oh, in Iceland?

Yeah.

Wow.

In the, in the kind of changing rooms.

It was just like,

Huh, okay, nice, nice.

It was nice to meet you.

Were they cover, cover in mud at the time or?

No.

They were very sweet though.

Oh, that's nice.

What is my favorite professional sport?

See, that I'm not a professional at.

I mean to watch it's probably either MMA,

or rock climbing, or rugby.

I mean. Or.

Multiple options there, but I'll give you a point.

And we always beat Ireland.

No you don't.

Always beat Ireland.

If you always beat Ireland

then you would have multiple Six Nations Rugby,

which you don't, but we do.

Moving on.

What's my favorite way to relax?

I mean, it could be a bath,

but I think it's gonna be a book.

Lying on the sofa reading.

Yay.

We're quite good at these.

Yeah.

We just know each other so well.

Who do I turn to for advice?

Me.

[Caitriona laughs]

Yay.

Love it.

What is my go-to karaoke song?

Ooh.

[Caitriona] I'm not very good, but.

I think it's some--

It's more like...

The person.

[Caitriona] Instead of the song, do the the person.

I think I know the person.

Is it Blondie?

Yey. Great.

I don't think I know this one.

What is my favorite book?

Okay.

It's either,

is it one of the McNabb books,

or the, what's this?

What's the climbing guy that you went climbing.

You love your climbing.

[Caitriona] I do, but I'm afraid... Neither.

The first one was Outlander, Crosscross

Oh, you're such a suck-up.

[Caitriona laughs]

And of course,

one of my many New York times bestselling books.

[Caitriona laughs]

What is my favorite movie?

Oh.

Oh damn.

I should know this one.

You should know this.

Oh.

Vietnam...

Private Pyle.

What is your major malfunction?

Is it, what's it called though?

It's, it's not Jarhead.

What's, what's it called?

That one.

Full Metal Jacket, yes.

I can see the picture of the, the movie poster.

We're on the last one.

Okay.

What was my worst experience on the set of Outlander?

[Caitriona laughs]

Was it being stuck on the boat

with no toilet or food for a full day?

Oh, that's pretty right.

That was pretty bad actually, yeah.

That was pretty horrific.

What was that?

That bowl, that muddy bowl near bath.

What was that?

Oh God, yeah.

Okay.

Was it the seven days

shooting those terrible scenes in the brothel.

You've got quite a few,

haven't you?

[Caitriona laughs]

There were quite a few.

I'd say the most challenging was the end,

the ep in season one.

[Caitriona] Oh, yeah.

But the worst,

I think it's just general, I'd say midges.

Oh, the midges.

The midges are just awful, aren't they?

Have to explain to anyone who doesn't know,

these are the tiny little,

almost invisible biting something.

They get into your hair, under your costumes.

[Sam] Under your wig.

Ugh. Yeah.

If I was a Real Housewife on Bravo...

[Sam] Oh wow.

Which city would I live in?

New Jersey.

No. Oh, close enough.

No.

I was about to say Monaghan.

We should do one.

The Real Housewives of Monaghan.

I'd watch that.

I don't think it would be the same.

Do I win?

Wow, yay. Yay.

Yeah.

I think we all...

I think we're both winners.

We've all seen that we both know each other very well

but I know I'm better.

Yeah, a little bit.

Okay, well.

Thanks for watching.

How well do I know you?

How well you do know me.

You know me very well and thank you, Vanity Fair.

Thank you so much.
