Dad stamp of approval: obtained.

We know, thanks to the NFL’s very enthusiastic camera crews, that Taylor Swift has spent a good amount of time bonding with Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, during the several Kansas City Chiefs games she’s attended. But now, Dad Kelce is taking the field. And Ed Kelce is a fan, it turns out.

“I think she’s very genuine,” he told Entertainment Tonight Wednesday, calling Swift “so grounded.” He also thinks their relationship is “just great.”

“They’re two wonderful people and they are enjoying each other’s company and supporting each other,” he said, noting that “this is a rough time for either one of them to have a relationship. She’s in the middle of this ginormous tour, he’s knee-deep [in the NFL season]. At least he takes his just as serious as she takes hers as far as commitment to their craft.”

And, importantly, that means a commitment to letting Travis take a nap.

“I think she realizes how committed Travis is to sleep, 10 hours a day, when your body is going through this kind of thing,” Ed Kelce said. “So I think they’re both very supportive.”

On Monday, he told People that Swift is “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.” She scored huge points with him by doing something surprising the first time they met: picking up trash.

“We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”

“And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”

Sounds like someone is Swift-ly becoming a family favorite.
